Three #Occupy domestic terrorists get prison terms of 5 to 8 years

Steve Schmadeke is reporting that Cook County prosecutors raised the specter of the Boston Marathon bombings in asking for hefty sentences for three alleged anarchists convicted of making crude Molotov cocktails in the lead-up to the 2012 NATO summit, but a judge ended up imposing more modest prison terms Friday that could result in their release in less than two years.

Judge Thaddeus Wilson took the middle ground, sentencing the so-called NATO 3 to between 5 and 8 years in prison, well below the 14 years sought by prosecutors but more than the time served wanted by the defense.

The three-week trial of Brian Church, Jared Chase and Brent Betterly marked the first test in Cook County of a state terrorism law enacted in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks. In a blow for State's Attorney Anita Alvarez, a jury in February acquitted all three of the more serious terrorism charges but convicted them of felony counts of possessing an incendiary device and misdemeanor mob action.

Prosecutors alleged that they had plotted attacks on police stations, President Barack Obama's campaign headquarters and Mayor Rahm Emanuel's home. But the defense, bolstered by undercover police recordings that prosecutors played in court, argued that the three were goofs who talked big and were goaded on by two police officers working their first undercover investigation.

In court Friday, Assistant State's Attorney Jack Blakey credited strong police work and good fortune with preventing an attack like the Boston bombings that killed three and injured 264. He argued for stiff prison sentences, saying the three defendants remained unrepentant.

"They are a disaster waiting to happen," he told the judge.

But defense attorneys blasted prosecutors for the comparison, saying it was a further sign of their overzealous efforts in a case that was overcharged and rebuffed by jurors.

"We have a prosecutor with the mentality of the Spanish Inquisition," said Thomas Anthony Durkin, Chase's attorney.

The judge sentenced Church to 5 years in prison, Betterly to 6 years and Chase to 8 years.

"It may not be terrorism, but it is terrorizing," Wilson said of the trio's decision to build four explosives by pouring gasoline into empty beer bottles. "No matter what they do in other countries, Americans will not stand for the throwing of Molotov cocktails at police in the streets."

The judge did not make clear the distinctions in his sentences. Prosecutors, for instance, had labeled Chase as the ringleader.

All three have been jailed since their arrests almost two years ago, meaning that if they qualify for good time they could be freed in 6 to 18 months, according to their attorneys.

Harry Reid has once again labeled the TEA Party anarchists

“We’re not going to bow to TEA Party anarchists who deny the mere fact that ObamaCare is the law,” Reid said. “We will not bow to TEA Party anarchists who refuse to accept that the Supreme Court ruled that ObamaCare is constitutional.” If the TEA Party is anarchist, what do you call these people?

Andrew Marcus asks, if the TEA Party is anarchist, what do you call these people?

What should we call these people who terrorized women and children in DC just two years ago? (WARNING: Strong Language)

What shall we call these people destroying Oakland in this video? (WARNING: Strong Language)

Is there no reporter with a spine who is willing to confront Harry Reid on his disgusting insensitivity toward the very American people who’ve been terrorized by Progressives who proudly identify as anarchist.

Reid’s behavior is no different from Muslims blaming Jews for 9/11.

Team Obama ordered law enforcement officers to "stand down" and not arrest "Occupy Portland" protestors

Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained records from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) indicating that the General Services Administration (GSA), with the blessing of the Obama White House, instructed law enforcement officers to “stand down” and not arrest “Occupy Portland” protestors who were in violation of the law.

The records, obtained pursuant to a November 11, 2011, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, include internal DHS correspondence. One November 6, 2011, e-mail exchange between DHS/National Protection and Programs Directorate Chief of Staff Caitlin Durkovich and GSA Public Buildings Service Commissioner Robert Peck (who has since been fired) specifically related to Occupy Portland protests taking place on federal property in Portland:

I am sorry to be emailing you on a Sunday night, but wanted to let you know our Press Shop has received a couple of calls from Portland media outlets about a group of 11 protesters who again set up camp at Terry Shrunk Plaza in Portland last night. They have chained themselves to a large drum filled with concrete. GSA controls the permits and has asked FPS [Federal Protective Services] not to enforce the curfew at park and the prohibition on overnight encampments. Reporters have asked if we will be arresting the protestors as FPS did last week.

Our FPS Commander in Portland says they are standing down and following GSA’s request to only intervene if there is a threat to public safety.

Peck responds:

Caitlin: yes, that is our position; it’s been vetted with our Administrator and Michael Robertson, our chief of staff, and we have communicated with the WH [White House], which has afforded us the discretion to fashion our approach to Occupy issues…The arrests last week were carried out despite our request that the protesters be allowed to remain and to camp overnight…

Occupy Portland is part of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which has been beset with accusations of “crimes and dangerous behavior” during its protests.

According to the Oregonian, the week before this email exchange, on October 30, 2011, “Twenty-five Occupy Portland demonstrators were arrested…after refusing to leave Jamison Square. The arrests capped an intense hours-long standoff between police and dozens of protesters who refused to leave the Pearl District park after it was declared closed at midnight. Officers, some in riot gear and others on horses, faced off with protesters who remained in the square, despite being ordered to leave.” The protestors were reportedly arrested on accusations of “trespassing, interfering with a police officer and disorderly conduct for the noise complaints from neighbors.”

Robert Peck was at the center of a scandal involving the GSA in 2010, where the agency spent $823,000 on a lavish Las Vegas “training conference” that featured a clown, a mind reader and a $31,208 reception. Peck was fired as a result of the incident. Peck, who has donated thousands of dollars to Democrat candidates, including Barack Obama, was previously implicated in an unrelated GSA scandal for reportedly brokering a controversial lease deal for a Democratic donor and friend of former Vice President Al Gore. Per The Washington Examiner’s Mark Tapscott: “In Peck’s first go-round at GSA, controversy was sparked when it was learned that excessively high rent was being paid by the FCC to the owner of a building who also happened to be a Democratic donor. Peck was the official who made the deal possible.”

Peck was deposed by Judicial Watch today in a separate lawsuit on behalf of Linda Shenwick, a GSA whistleblower who Peck and others allegedly retaliated against because of Ms. Shenwick’s opposition to wasteful spending, such as parties, that have now caused so much controversy.

“We now have a new GSA scandal – one that involves the Obama White House,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These documents clearly show that federal agencies colluded with the Obama White House to allow the Occupy Wall Street protestors to violate the law with impunity. These documents tell us that the GSA and DHS can’t be relied upon to protect federal workers or property.”

Obama's Frankenstein turns on its creator

In Shelley's tale, lonely and miserable, the monster turned upon its creater.

Will Obama metaphorically lose his political life at the hands of his creation?

Union with Obama ties rents offices for Occupy DC

Aubrey Whelan is reporting that alabor union with strong ties to Barack Obama is helping make the Occupy Wall Street movement a more permanent fixture in the nation's capital, moving Occupy DC into office space the group can use to organize and grow through the presidential election.

The Service Employees International Union, one of Obama's most vocal supporters among labor groups, is paying $4,000 a month for three offices the Occupy protesters will use for at least the next six months to plan future demonstrations, organize and host workshops.

The offices are at the Institute for Policy Studies, a nonprofit progressive group headquartered at 16th and L streets NW, amid the major law firms, trade groups and lobbying shops that Occupiers have spent the past seven months denouncing. The offices are just a short distance from the tent city Occupy DC established in McPherson Square in October.

Occupiers moved into their new digs Monday. The SEIU will pay the rent for six months, said John Cavanagh, director of the Institute for Policy Studies.

SEIU representatives did not return calls seeking comment, but Cavanagh and Occupiers confirmed the union's role in helping Occupy establish a headquarters of sorts in Washington.

Like its counterparts at the AFL-CIO and other major labor unions, the SEIU has long been supportive of the Occupy protests, though relations between the protesters and labor haven't always been smooth. Occupiers distanced themselves from the SEIU in the past, saying they were uncomfortable with the union's vocal support for Obama.

Occupiers said they don't want to be associated with either major political party and chafed at the unions' adoption of Occupy slogans and rhetoric like "We are the 99 percent."

The SEIU contributed millions of dollars and thousands of volunteers to help elect Obama in 2008 and was among the first to endorse his reelection this year. Former SEIU President Andy Stern was once the Obama White House's most frequent guest, logging nearly two dozen visits, and served on Obama's deficit reduction commission.

The Occupiers' lease will run right up to Election Day this fall, though Occupiers insist they're aren't organizing on behalf of Obama.

Protester Sam Jewler said Occupiers still don't agree with the SEIU's support of Obama, who embraced the Occupy movement early on but has said little about it since Occupiers and police clashed in New York, Oakland, Calif., San Francisco and elsewhere.

Still, Jewler said Occupiers recognize they have common interests with labor unions, like fighting income inequality, on which they can work together. Occupiers said they view the union's backing as a donation with no strings attached.

"We've got full control of how we allocate space, time, resources, access," said protester John Zangas. "Nobody's telling us what to do. We still have our own brand name. We continue with unbridled decision making."

Cavanagh said the union offered months ago to rent space for Occupy, which chose a suite of offices at the institute in part because the peace group was a long-established presence at Occupy. The institute has been hosting discussions in McPherson Square for months and has been allowing Occupiers to use its empty offices on Sundays and in rainy weather.

"We've known these people for five months," Cavanagh said. "It's great to have them."

these stupid people are so totally sick, you can't even begin to put a name on their heads......   they take a word and think/speak of the opposite of it and that becomes a slogan, and they rote teach it to those "students" and make them into puppets....  all those people become is little Pavlovs in essence...  not one of them has an original thought process among themselves, and they blame Conservatives and Republicans for their lack of intelligence.....  every rally or start of the process for them includes that teaching process and making them true Pavlovs.....  give a slogan of 5 words or less, teach (Michael Moore) it repeatedly to the students, start the chanting, job done, little Pavlovs swarm the streets.  Millions of stupids roaming the streets demanding that they be given everything for free, and tearing down the very essense of being a productive-free people by want of their dereliction and lack of brains...

Obama himself is a great example of Cloward-Piven, and I bet that the time he was missing from Columbia, he was getting the full treatment ofo the Cloward-Piven someewhere in seclusion, and that is what made him into the do nothing robot that he is today, give him a slogan, and rote teach it to him and he became a great little robot Pavlov, unable to have an original thought and only able to speak what he has been forced to believe through that rote teaching to repeat obssessivly.....and on and on until he will someday (hopefully) EXPLODE because of all the pressure on his narcissistic image of himself.

See Spot, see Spot run, see Spot run into the street, see Spot get run over by a BIG CAPITALISTIC truck!!!!  Thank God for all the people who question Spot when they are young......  else the world would be completely overtaken by Spots, thankg God for the people who question and think

Springtime for Occupy

Benny Johnson is reporting that Piven & Lerner has six risky, strategic steps forward for the evicted movement.

"It’s Springtime for Occupy!"  That means the brilliant cast of characters that brought you the noxious, multimillion dollar expense tothe taxpayer are back for a second round. Two of The Blaze’s favorite leaders of civic unrest, arch-liberal sociologist Frances Fox Piven and SEIU labor organizer Stephen Lerner discussed how Occupy Wall Street will pivot to a far more local, intimate occupation this spring after being evicted from their public squatting grounds with rubber bullets and crews in post apocalyptic hazmat suits. In an in-depth interview with Democracynow.org, Piven and Learner lay out five integral steps that Occupy will be taking this spring to keep a pulse going.

The six next strategic steps for The Occupy Movement are as follows according to Learner and Piven:

1. LOCALIZE: Move Protest into neighborhoods and schools.

“What people have been figuring out how to do is to move the protest into the neighborhoods, into the workplaces, into the schools.” ~Piven

2. OCCUPY FORECLOSED HOMES AND FACTORIES: Broaden agenda to those most affected by the economic collapse.

“I think, in the end, it may turn out that evicting the occupations was the precipitant of expanding the movement, because the movement’s agenda has broadened, and they’re now experimenting with reoccupying foreclosed homes, for example, with ways of rallying to the defense of workers who are locked out or on strike.”~Piven

3. RECRUIT YOUTH: Use the Universities and Professors as spearheads of Recruitment to broaden movement.

“And with the spring, I think there’s going to be a lot of protest in the universities and the colleges.

Young people are very responsive to the appeals of Occupy, to their cultural style.”~Piven

4. ORGANIZE WITH LABOR: Further integration between Occupy and the traditional Unions, teamsters and community organizing, leftist organizations.

And I think it’s part of how we think about combining the horizontal energy and vision and passion of Occupy with the more vertical traditional community- and labor-based groups. And when the two of them meet, we’ll get the combustion of saying Wall Street is drowning the country, and they’re doing it in neighborhoods and communities all over.”~Lerner

5. OCCUPY DEMOCRATS: Specifically target the DNC convention, being held at Bank Of America Arena, to make a point that this is not a partisan movement. In spite of the fact that scores of Democrats have praised the Occupy movement, including President Obama.

“And occupiers and community groups and environmentalists and people from all over the country are going to be coming to Charlotte. And in a way, I think we can think about it as the first convention.”~Lerner

6. BUY STOCK: An example is given by Learner of “a lot of people” buying shares of Bank Of America and taking their shares to the annual shareholders meetings in San Francisco to vote on new polices for the company. This is named The Confront Corporate Power Movement.

“Bank of America shares were recently down to $5, so a lot of people have bought stock and are planning to go to that meeting and try to be citizen shareholder—taxpayer shareholders, and have a say.”~Lerner

Beyond this blueprint for spring anarchy, other bright ideas were flowing in the interview. Mr. Learner has seemingly solved the crippling sub-prime housing crisis by offering a utopian solution: banks pay for everyone’s mortgages. “So in the case of Bank of America and Wells Fargo, there’s millions of people who are underwater, 11 million, in their homes, meaning that their homes are worth less now when they bought them, and they’re drowning in the debt. So there’s a campaign to say, let’s force the banks to write down the principal on those mortgages by $300 billion so that folks can stay in their homes. And that would create a million jobs. It would save people $5,000 on average a year in mortgage payments” Lerner predicted. Piven offered an equally non-traditional solution to the housing crisis when she called for the occupation of foreclosed homes. “…they’re now experimenting with reoccupying foreclosed homes, for example, with ways of rallying to the defense of workers who are locked out or on strike.’’

It remains to be seen how deep the occupy movement will root itself into our American society. Piven fantasizes, ”Protest movements have a long life—10, 15 years—and they are what we have to rely on to take our country back.” Learner’s closing plea is unabashed in its socialist constructs, “Imagine building the kind of movement that can transform the country, that can really talk about redistributing wealth and power. And there’s never a better time to get involved.” We will soon see if the tent-bound progressive armies show up to answer the call.

No wonder Obama supports the Occupiers

Joanne M. Miller comments about the communist support of Occupy Wall Street, saying she is more troubled by the communist/socialist sympathizers in the White House.  It is common knowledge that all of Obama’s "czars" and advisors, if not actually communists or socialists, could be described as "fellow travelers," which is what they were known as back in the 1920s and 1930s.

Just one example of many, Cass Sunstein, Obama’s Regulatory Czar, in 2004 wrote a book "The Second Bill Of Rights: FDR’s Unfinished Revolution And Why We Need It More Than Ever."  In this book he proposed rights which he hoped would migrate to the Constitution.  These "rights" included a right to a job, the right to a decent home, the right to health care, protection from unemployment, wage guarantees for all, and of course, paid for by the redistribution of wealth.  It always has to do with taking something from someone.  He wrote in his book that an economic crisis such as a depression could move our country in the direction of socialism.  In his book he lends support to communism.  We know how communism worked in the last century -- bloodshed as far as the eye could see with millions of people exterminated.  We can see how socialism is working in governments collapsing all over Europe.  Communism and Socialism work great for the people in charge, but capitalism over time benefits the greater good, which is opportunity to do well and succeed.  We will always have the drifters and the people who don’t like to work.  The poor and downtrodden, whom we WANT to help, still do better with the beneficence of a free and capitalistic society.  Under communism, they just killed the poor and the sick.  These occupiers are totally ignorant of the consequences of their desires, should they be implemented.  They need to occupy Washington D.C. and protest the "crony" part of capitalism, which is blatantly practiced by this Administration.

The rabblement cry for fairness through wealth redistribution can be directly traced to the progressive FDR New Deal Fairness Doctrine.  In his autobiography, "Witness", by Whittaker Chambers, he reveals the inner workings of the Communist Apparatuses during the Roosevelt administration, which included subversion of our government and infiltration into all branches of our government -- treasury, state, science, education, but especially radio, motion pictures, book, magazine and newspaper publishing.  (see p. 269 of "Witness," or better yet, read the book).  As documented by Chambers, the infiltrators helped write these progressive policies.  The only difference between then and now is that these socialists are not underground.  They are serving at the pleasure of the socialist in chief, Barack Obama.

People need to wake up to the fact that we have a socialist in the Ovbal Office, and it doesn’t take too much brain power to realize that as a socialist, this chaos presents his opportunity to usher in a socialist agenda.  Does Obama really want to solve the jobless situation or the debt crisis?  The obvious answer is "no."

No wonder Obama supports the Occupiers.  These selfish whiners are Obama’s foot soldiers in this effort.

The roots of the "quiet revolution."

Obamaville can become America

Lubbock Online says the Occupy Wall Street Movement and the 100s of Occupy groups nationwide produce Obamavilles that could rapidly spread over our land.

Obamaville is Obama’s destination for the United States of America.  Barack Obama’s policies and the policies of the Socialist Progressive Left will lead us to a lawless and barbaric environment where the strong are the ignorant, uneducated, unskilled, lazy, and grossly incompetent.  Those who follow the Occupy Movement are Americans, and the sad thing is no one has bothered to teach them how to think.

Obama laid the foundation for the Occupy Movement, which is nothing more than Anarchists and Socialists who have been inspired and energized by Obama’s efforts to create Class Envy and Class Hatred in America.  Many are college students who are skipping classes or who have dropped out in order to participate in the Occupy Movement.  They are often poorly educated and poorly informed.

The residents of Obamaville have generally sacrificed little or nothing to educate and to prepare themselves for a life and a job.  They, like Obama, have been raised to hate America and the Freedom that America protects.  Many, if not most, are on welfare or have been supported by their indulgent parents.  All want money and other support from our government, and all want someone else to pay for all of it.

The residents of Obamaville want to live in comfort without having to work for what they receive.  They want equality with those who have sacrificed and worked hard, and they want government to achieve the equality by taking from the assets of the hard workers and giving money to them who are lazy, uneducated, and unappreciative.  In addition, most in Obamaville want the successful to not only be brought to poverty but also to be punished for their success.

The America of the Obamavilles has been brought to us by the news media, the Democratic Party, Liberal teachers and professors, Hollywood, union leaders, the Communist Party of America, Black Panthers, and numerous domestic and foreign groups that hate Freedom, Capitalism, and the United States of America.

Do not underestimate Barack Obama and the residents of Obamaville.  They can do much to keep Obama in power.

Indeed it is but while these Obama fueled maggots roil around in their own filth, BHO is flying in AF-1 sipping the finest wines, eating the finest foods, using a high tech toilet and relaxing in utmost luxury.

BTW the evil corporation Boeing provided BHO with his wonderful surroundings. And no doubt ExxonMobil delivered the eco-unfriendly Jet-A that fuels the plane. Shouldn't he have invited a few of the protesters to ride along (after appropriate fumigation and clean-up of course.)

Occupy Wall Street IS Obama’s America

AWR Hawkins says when Barack Obama was seeking the Democrat nomination in early 2008, warnings of his inexperience coupled with the fact that he was an ideologue were ubiquitous.  Again and again, the facts were placed before us that Obama’s only claim to significant leadership was as a community organizer in Chicago.  Mark Levin, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and others repeatedly said that Obama would be a reckless president who lacked governing knowledge and who was ruled only by his desire to put America in its place.

And here we are.  It’s late 2011, and the Organizer-in-Chief has proven that his only strength lies in his ability to organize those who hate America -- hating both the economic system embedded in her and the ideals on which she stands.

To put it bluntly, "Occupy Wall Street" is Obama’s America.  He has organized it, perhaps indirectly, but has done so nonetheless via his relentless venom for "the rich" coupled with his ongoing calls for more people to sacrifice and to "pay their fair share."  Of course, he doesn’t mean the hippies and freaks in the protests should pay their share.  Rather, he is fostering a feeling of betrayal in them so they will continue to "rage against the machine."

Look at it, folks -- Obama’s America.  Ain’t it great?  It’s a place where law is disparaged (you can defecate on police cars), capitalism is hated ("eat the rich"), and people are entitled to take money from others even if the takers played no role in earning the money they crave (especially if they played no role in earning it).

Hippies, freaks and union goons, all together in Obama’s community, have organized to oppose everything great about America.  All the little ideologues are trying their best to imitate the masters: Obama, Marx, and that Jimmy Hoffa dude who loves to tell Obama "this is your army," "we are ready to march," and a bunch of other nonsense.

Since this is Obama’s army -- the community he has organized -- I suppose he gets the credit for their great accomplishments.  You know, the vandalism in Oakland, the sexual assault at Occupy Dallas, the policemen attacked at Occupy Denver, the drug overdose at Occupy Vancouver, the kidnapping at Occupy Cleveland, and sexual predator/Seattle Occupier who was busted for exposing himself to kids at Seattle’s classy occupation.  This is what "hope and change" looks like when you flesh it out, when you take it out of the leftist playbook and apply it to the real world.

Our Organizer-in-Chief has really outdone himself this time.

Welcome to Obama’s America.

A lot of good it's done him

Glynnis MacNicol says iIf Barack Obama is hoping that his support of the Occupy Wall Street movement will help his reelection chances he may want to take a look at this poll.

The New York Times reports on a poll done by a Fordham University political science professor that reveals what some have long suspected: Occupy Wall St. is mainly made up of (very) disgruntled Obama supporters.

Check out these numbers.

Sixty percent of those surveyed said they voted for Barack Obama in 2008, and about three-quarters now disapprove of Obama’s performance as president.  A quarter said they were Democrats, but 39 percent said they did not identify with any political party.  Eleven percent identified as Socialists, another 11 percent said they were members of the Green Party, 2 percent were Republicans and 12 percent say they identified as something else.

Those are brutal numbers, and suggest that essentially what we are seeing with the Occupy Wall St. movement is 2008's unprecedented youth support for Obama grown bitterly cynical.

That Obama can win back that support with any gesture seems unlikely, but he's certainly going to have to do a great deal more than throw obscure 99% references into phone calls by his advisers.

In an interview with ABC News on October 17th, 2011, Barack Obama suggested that the Occupy Wall Street protests are similar to TEA Party.

Watch this video and decide for yourself.
